OUR NEWS / Workshop on Juncker's Investment Plan for Europe

The Delegation of the European Commission in Greece in cooperation with the European Investment Bank's Office of Athens organized a workshop about the Juncker's Investment Plan for Europe. The investment plan focuses on removing barriers of investment, promotion and technical support of investment projects as well as the efficient use of new and existing financial resources.

So far the European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved 57 projects representing a total funding of 7.8 billion euro. The European Investment Fund (EIF) has approved 165 SMEs’ financing agreements, while the total funding, granted by the Investment Plan amounts to 3.4 bn. euros.


The first Greek company that took a loan of 15 million. euros from the EIB under the Investment Plan is the company “Creta Farm”.

Approximately 136,000 SMEs and mid-cap companies are expected to benefit from the Plan. Overall, these actions are expected to mobilize total investment of 82 bn. euro.

The Commission will put in full operation the European Gateway Investment Project, the next time, which will enable public and private entities to present their projects to potential investors.

Executives of “SYNERGASIA Ltd” attended the conference, which took place on Monday, April 18th, 2016 at Aegli of Zappion (room Olympia) with main speaker Nicholas Jennett, head of "Investment Team for Europe" of the European Investment Bank.
