1st Pan-Hellenic Marketing and Site Branding Conference

The increased global interest in the fields of marketing and site branding on any scale (district - destination - city - region - state) creates the need for scientific investigation of the particular subject.

The purpose of the 1st National Conference of Marketing and Site Branding, held in Volos by the Department of Planning and Regional Development of the University of Thessaly, was to define the subject of marketing and branding a place and creating the conditions for dialogue, but also cooperation between scientists, skilled advisers, researchers and representatives of local government in Greece.

The central thematic areas of the conference were:

  1. The Marketing and Branding of a Site as tools in the development of cities and regions: Strategic development of the Site Identity
  2. Civil society in the processes of Site Marketing And Branding: Participatory planning, partner coordination and conflict resolution
  3. Local culture and festivals as elements of site’s identity promotion
  4. Connection between sustainable tourism and promotion of site’s identity
  5. Site marketing and Branding for the attraction of new investments
  6. Application and assessment of processes’ result
  7. Site Image (architectural, urban design, communication design, logo design)
  8. Research tools and methods of evaluation strategies
  9. Nation Branding: international promotion of Greece
  10. Place E-marketing. Social networking and International Networks.

Members of academic community, representatives of the local government authorities, creators and professionals of Marketing and Communication, Architecture, Graphic Designs, Business and Trade, Tourism and Culture met in the Conference giving emphasis to the Strategic Promotion of Greek Sites Identity.

“SYNERGASIA Ltd.” took part in the 1st Conference of Site Marketing & Branding, recognizing the need of defining every term of this issues and developing the scientific dialogue, through a wide meeting of scientific and professional institutions of this theme.
